At this moment traditional songs was not pay attention so that almost the traditional song is not well known by young generations. The position of traditional songs was lost with technology. If there is not an conservation and appreciation for traditional songs especially Madura traditional songs, so the traditional song can be lost in the future so that writer try to analysis of moral and educational values on Madura folk songs. The discussion in this thesis the author tried to review the pedagogical values particularly with regard to the morality contained in the lyrics of Madura folk song. The author only took eight songs contained in a book of poetry titled Madura folk songs "set song Madura Regions" in 2003 by the author R. Amirudin Tjitraprawira Namely; “Lir Saalir”, “Tondu\u27 Majang”, “Pajjhar Langgu”, “Caca Aghuna”, “Pa\u27-Opa\u27 Iliing”, “Pacakang Alako”, “Entar Akarang”, “Les Balesan”. The research was conducted with the following statement of problems: (1) What are moral and educational values found on Madura folk song by R. Tjitraprawira? (2) How is the meaning of Madurese life which is contained in the Madura song lyric? (3) What are the messages that can be delivered to the reader on Madura folk song by R.Amiruddin Tjitraprawira? The objective of this study was to know moral value found on madura folk song, to know how the meaning of madurese life which is contained in the madura song lyric,to know the message that can be delivered to the reader of madura folk song by R.Amiruddin Tjitraprawira. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative approach in finding moral and educational values. The research method is used from the researcher itself because for analysis the data use interpretation of own words. The data is taken eight titles from Madura songs such as “Lir Saalir”, “Tondu\u27 Majang”, “Pajjhar Langgu”, “Caca Aghuna”, “Pa\u27-Opa\u27 Iliing”, “Pacakang Alako”, “Entar Akarang”, “Les Balesan”. The researcher choose this titles because it contains the high valuable meaning related Madura daily activities which is designed in madurese language. Finally, this study uses semantic as the base theory which related on moral and educational values. Therefore, the researcher suggests to the next researcher whom want concern with the similar topic to analyze moral and educational values should be attention the theory which accordance with the research object itself and look for references that can be found in journal, newspaper, and books, etc. Keyword : Moral and educational values, Madura folk song

Time-Fractional KdV Equation for the plasma in auroral zone using Variational Methods

The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation for small but finite amplitude electrostatic waves. The Lagrangian of the time fractional KdV equation is used in similar form to the Lagrangian of the regular KdV equation. The variation of the functional of this Lagrangian leads to the Euler-Lagrange equation that leads to the time fractional KdV equation. The Riemann-Liouvulle definition of the fractional derivative is used to describe the time fractional operator in the fractional KdV equation. The variational-iteration method given by He is used to solve the derived time fractional KdV equation. The calculations of the solution with initial condition A0*sech(cx)^2 are carried out. Numerical studies have been made using plasma parameters close to those values corresponding to the dayside auroral zone. The effects of the time fractional parameter on the electrostatic solitary structures are presented.Comment: 1 tex file + 5 eps figure

An exergy approach to efficiency evaluation of desalination

    Get PDF
This paper presents an evaluation process efficiency based on the consumption of primary energy for all types of practical desalination methods available hitherto. The conventional performance ratio has, thus far, been defined with respect to the consumption of derived energy, such as the electricity or steam, which are susceptible to the conversion losses of power plants and boilers that burned the input primary fuels. As derived energies are usually expressed by the units, either kWh or Joules, these units cannot differentiate the grade of energy supplied to the processes accurately. In this paper, the specific energy consumption is revisited for the efficacy of all large-scale desalination plants. In today's combined production of electricity and desalinated water, accomplished with advanced cogeneration concept, the input exergy of fuels is utilized optimally and efficiently in a temperature cascaded manner. By discerning the exergy destruction successively in the turbines and desalination processes, the relative contribution of primary energy to the processes can be accurately apportioned to the input primary energy. Although efficiency is not a law of thermodynamics, however, a common platform for expressing the figures of merit explicit to the efficacy of desalination processes can be developed meaningfully that has the thermodynamic rigor up to the ideal or thermodynamic limit of seawater desalination for all scientists and engineers to aspire to

Firm Valuation, Market Responses, And Accounting Conservatism

This study examines whether the components of accounting conservatism as described in Watts (2003a): contracting, litigation, regulation, and taxation, provide insight on the value relevance of financial information. During the years 1993 through 2009, we explore whether these four factors are value relevant in capturing information in contemporaneous stock returns and prices and whether the trends in value relevance for these drivers vary across time. Specifically, our study aids in helping to reconcile the competing results of Balachandran and Mohanram (2011), who state that there is no compelling evidence that firms with higher levels of accounting conservatism exhibit decreasing levels of value relevance, and Lev and Zarowin (1999), who suggest that accounting conservatism is a factor causing a decline in the usefulness of financial information over time. Our results provide evidence that the level of contracting, litigation, and regulation are associated with returns and prices and their value relevance has not decreased over time, findings which differ from Lev and Zarowin (1999), and support Balachandran and Mohanram (2011), such that the expectation of these drivers are associated with value relevance. In addition, we find less consistent evidence that the taxation explanation of accounting conservatism is associated with value relevance

Analisis Kinerja Keuangan dengan Menggunakan Rasio-Rasio Keuangan dan Economic Value Added (Studi Kasus: PT. Bank Syariah Mandiri)

This paper analyzes the financial peformance of Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) using financial ratios and Economic Value Added (EVA) method. The ratio of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return on Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) show fluctuative result. However, on average, during 2003-2006 financial performance of BSM was increased considerably. While using EVA method, its result during 2003-2006 tend to decreased and even negative. The best performance was happening in 2003, whereby during 2004 - 2006 EVA result was lower than zero meaning that financial performance of BSM do not have any economic contribution to the institution especially for the interest of investor

Participatory processes and their outcomes: comparing assembly and popular vote decisions

How do face-to-face, assembly processes, and non-face-to-face, popular vote processes impact the decisions made by citizens? Normative discussions of the comparative merits of these two broad types of participatory decision-making processes partly rely on empirical assumptions concerning this question. In this paper, we test the central assumption that assemblies lead to decisions that are more widely supported by participants than popular votes. We do so by analyzing 1,400 decisions made through these processes on the highly salient issue of municipal mergers in Swiss municipalities since 1999. We find that assembly decisions are consistently made by larger majorities than popular vote decisions and that this relationship is significantly mediated by turnout. This suggests that higher levels of agreement in assemblies mainly result from selection biases – with fewer dissenting citizens participating in assemblies than in popular votes – rather than from internal dynamics in assemblies.publishe
